The 2nd Ichthus Middle and High School Graduation Ceremony

 

The2nd Ichthus Middle and High School graduation ceremony was held at the school auditorium. A lot of local visitors, parents, people from the United States who came as English teachers and for short-term missionary, and Korean staff all attended the ceremony which started with a fanfare from a band from a neighbor middle and high school in Comitan.

 


 

Graduates entered and the national anthems of both Mexico and South Korea were played as the national flags of Mexico and South Korea entered. Pastor Jeremias Cahuich who leads the Chapel prayed for the ceremony, followed by a welcoming speech of the Representative, Young Yong Lee, congratulatory speeches of the Commissioner of Education of Chiapas and Mexican Ambassador to Korea, laudatory addresses of representatives of middle and high school, Gabriela and Illiana, and the presentation of the prize and diploma.

 


 


Letters of appreciation were presented to Pepe and Juan Carlos’ mother who prepared the dinner for students every Sunday, and Ana Rocio, a parent who cut the students’ hair. Also, plaques of thanks were presented to the lawyer, the Commissioner of Education, the Commissioner of Immigration, and the president of the Business Association of Korea in Central and South America, Se Taek Cheon, who have helped Centro Educative Ichthus so far both publicly and privately.

 

 

 

Finally, the ceremony ended with a festive song of Daiga and a clarinet performance of Charity, followed by the contratulatory speech and prayer of the pastor Seung Chan Jun of Ichthus Mission Church in the United States. Mariach performed gaily in the hall as the graduates made their exit.

 

 

 

 

The performance team led by the missionary Hyung Joo Cho performed Korean traditional fan dance and instruments and we had a good opportunity to introduce Korean culture to the local people.

 

   

All students, teachers, and staff members sent 19 students of AP08 and AP09 who finished their community life at the Ichthus School with hugs of encouragement and love. We will miss them and pray for their strong new start with blessings.
